One step closer to manufacture of Panda in Kragujevac – Beginning expected in several days

The president of the Autonomous Trade Union of FCA in Kragujevac, Sasa Djordjevic, has stated that the Stellantis factory in that city is a step closer to the beginning of a serial manufacture of the electric model Fiat Grande Panda, specifying that it should begin in the next few days.

– At the moment, the date of the very beginning is not yet known, but I can say that we are no longer talking months or weeks, but literally, from this moment on, it’s a matter of days and hours – said Djordjevic.

The trade unions expect that, once the manufacture starts, 300 to 400 Pandas will be produced each day, Djordjevic said for RTS.

He pointed out that our model was full of innovative details, one of which is the charging cable, and added that the modern Panda had retained the retro strain of the former model. As explained, the electric Grande Panda is a car nearly four meters long and 160 centimeters high, with a trunk volume of 360 liters.

A single charge allows for a ride of around 320 kilometers, and the car will be available for purchase in seven colors.

Djordjevic recently explained that the standard procedure in the car industry was for the number of manufactured cars to increase at a daily level from the period of the promotion of the beginning of production, so that at a certain moment their serial production could begin and added that such a procedure had been carried out in Kragujevac as well.

– The existing and the new equipment need to be harmonized, as new workers are coming, and inevitably, so do the suppliers and the quantities of the parts they deliver due to the increased production – he pointed out.

According to analysts’ estimates, if more than 100,000 vehicles were produced at the Kragujevac factory, the GDP growth rate could reach 4.2% or 4.3%.
