FCA trade union: Moving faster toward serial production of electric Panda in Kragujevac

At the car factory in Kragujevac, dozens of electric Pandas are now being produced each day, but there is still no official information about when serial production might begin, which entails the production of 200 to 250 vehicles in one shift. At the Autonomous Trade Union, they told the Beta news agency that they did not know when serial production would begin, but added that they hoped that the management would announce it not long after.

– It is certain that the production is stepping up, accelerating, there are very serious moves toward a serial production of the electric vehicles – said the president of the Autonomous Trade Union of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Serbia (FCA), Sasa Djordjevic.

According to him, the majority of the factory, two thirds, now works in one shift, whereas the factory sections “Karoserija” and “Preseraj” work in two shifts.

He said that, with the stepping up of the production, another shift would be introduced in each, so there would be two and three shifts respectively.

He explained that the gradual increase of the production could be an indication that the workers would be hired almost until the end of December, which, he believes, is a good sign, since in the past ten years and more, the employees at the car factory would be sent on a collective annual leave in mid-December already.

– There are even announcements that there will be a number, and not a small one either, of working Saturdays as the production increases – said Djordjevic and noted that, for two and a half years, the workers had not had a single day of a paid leave.

At the trade union, they said that the Stellantis factory in Kragujevac now employed over 800 workers and that new employments continued.
