German companies interested in infrastructure renovation

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic spoke today with a delegation of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations about economic cooperation and the possibility of involving German companies in infrastructure projects in Serbia.

The Government has announced in a release that it was assessed at the meeting which was also attended by German Ambassador to Serbia Heinz Wilhelm that the renovation of infrastructure and residential facilities in flooded areas and the improvement of anti-flood system were necessary.

Mihajlovic, who is also the president of the Government's Committee for the Assessment of Damages Caused by Natural Disasters, pointed out that the assessment of damages would be completed very soon.

Preliminary estimates show that damages caused to critical infrastructure - traffic, energy and telecommunications - exceed EUR 250 million.
