IT sector, after all, could not count on decreased taxes for the staff which was implied within the Strategy supporting this industry, Blic found out. The Ministry, namely, decided to accept recommendations of the Fiscal Council and not to introduce lower taxes on salaries selectively.

During the public discussion, the Ministry of Finance accepted suggestions of expert public and the Fiscal Council to leave out determination which implies that the employed in the IT industry will be free of paying contributions for health insurance and unemployment, the Ministry of Finance confirmed yesterday for Blic.

According to their claims, the Fiscal Council severely opposed to suggested implementation of benefited regime of paying social contributions in the IT industry case. They think this would be a severe violation of tax equality and social solidarity. Otherwise, budget costs for the staff in IT sector should total some RSD 3 billion per year.

Other implied measures such as start up grants, tax credits for investments in research and development, are effective.
