Elektroprivreda Srbije JSC announced a tender for the transport of 577,500 tons of brown coal on the route between the port of Ploce and TENT B.

The deal worth was estimated at slightly over RSD 3.9 billion (about EUR 33.5 million).

The carrier's task is to completely organize the transportation of brown coal from the moment the ship is unloaded in the Croatian port of Ploce to the moment the brown coal is delivered to the warehouse (coal dump) at TENT B.

According to the technical specification, the transport will be carried out from the moment the contract is valid, until the end of next year at the latest.

The contractor is, among other things, obliged to appoint a ship's agent for the unloading of cargo in the port of Ploce and organize the unloading of coal from the ship at his own expense, as well as to organize rail transport on the route between the ports of Ploce-Metkovic, Capljina, Zvornik Novi, Brasina, Sabac, and road transport by trucks on the route Sabac-TENT B.

The required dynamics of coal delivery to TENT B is 2,400 nt/day, according to the tender documentation.

The tender is open until August 11.

In all probability, the subject matter is part of the Indonesian coal arriving via China, the procurement of which (a total of 2 million tons) was announced by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, at the end of last summer.

In January this year, the draft future agreement for the transport of 400,000 tons of coal in 2023 from the Croatian port of Ploce to Serbia, through the Republic of Srpska and Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been signed in Doboj between the respective railroad companies of Republic of Srpska, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.

In May, EPS also announced a tender for the transport of 500,000 tons of coal from the Romanian port of Constanta, and the job worth around RSD 2.5 billion (EUR 21 million) was awarded to a consortium of companies Jugoslovensko rečno brodarstvo AD Beograd and TTS (Transport trade services) SA from Bucharest.
