Telenor satisfied with its position in Serbian market – Company continuing to invest in startup projects
We are very happy with our position in the Serbian market. We are number one and we measure that by our clients' satisfaction and their opinions – says Sigve Brekke, CEO of Telenor Group.
He says that the Serbian market is very competitive and adds tat the company has introduced the 4G network in to it in 2016 and entered the project of digital banking with Telenor Bank.
When asked about the effectiveness of these new projects, he answers that it's still early for conclusions, as Telenor has only just begun positioning itself in the financial market.
– We have a lot of active clients, and we hope to expand our services to, say, savings accounts. We also invest in startup projects in Serbia and it is our responsibility in general to develop an economic ecosystem in this market – he adds.
Regarding Telenor Group, Brekke says that the company wishes “to be more than just a global business player, it wants to have a higher purpose in the growth and development of the societies in all the 13 markets it operates in”.
– I believe that we keep doing a good job and that we keep growing, especially in the Asian market, but also in the Nordic market and the Central European market. The growth is especially big in Asia, which is a specific market, as we have clients there who are buying their first mobile phones. The fastest growing market in Asia is Myanmar, which makes sense, as we've only been there for two and a half years. In general, we are making advances in all fields – Brekke says.
