Belgrade not to get new hotel across the street from Federal Parliament, instead - construction of 10,000 square meters of office space
There will be no luxurious hotel at the corner of Kneza Miloša Street and Kralja Aleksandra Boulevard, because Hypo-Alpe Adria Consulting gave up construction of long-announced City Business Hotel on the location of former cafe "Tri lista duvana". Namely, the feasibility study pointed to the risk involved in this investment in the hotel with 140 rooms, so that the business complex of 10,000 square meters will be built on that location instead.
The deadline for realization of this investment is the end of year 2008.
It is for certain that the city authorities have not welcomed this news, because Belgrade has big problems with insufficient hotel offer. The head architect of city of Belgrade, Đorđe Bobić, said that "Feasibility study of the investor showed that that project would not be profitable. No one can make investors build hotels. That is the market race."

Mr. Bobić announced other investments in hotels and, already in Autumn, the construction of private hotel in Jurija Gagarina Street should commence, and there was also the hotel in Rajićeva Street.
