Kuwaiti business center instead of Main Railway Station in Belgrade?

On the occasion of the signing of agreements with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Transportation Minister Milutin Mrkonjic suggested Kuwait build a business center on the site of the old railway station upon its relocation and use it as the European base.

He presented the Kuwaiti delegation with the possibility of starting a new investment cycle that would include the relocation of the old railway station in Belgrade, which would be the end of the second phase of construction of the complete railway hub Prokop.

- Since we are one step away from completing the first phase thanks to you, I would like to offer you to partake in the next phase of this very large project. The plan is to relocate the old railway station spanning over 86 hectares, and the value of this land in the first zone is estimated at EUR 10 billion - Minister Mrkonjic stressed.

Abdulah Al Bader, director of the Kuwaiti fund, pointed out that there was a number of ways in which Kuwait could work with Serbia on this project.

- Show us all the projects related to the relocation of the old railway station, and we will seriously consider your concrete proposals - said Al Bader.
