(Illustration) The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has issued building permits for the first 376 apartments to be built for members of security forces in Nis and Vranje, with RSD 1.4 billion to be invested in the construction, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction Zorana Mihajlovic said on Friday, September 21, 2018.
– Within about ten days, a public call for contractors will be opened and if everything goes as it should, the construction could start in October – Mihajlovic said at the press conference at the Government when asked by Tanjug how far the project has progressed.
In the first phase, she specified, four buildings with 186 apartments will be built in Vranje and two buildings with 190 apartments will be built in Nis, amounting to around 27,000 square meters in both cities.
According to the estimated value, RSD 666.12 million will be invested in the construction of apartments in Vranje, and RSD 740.47 will be invested in the construction of apartments in Nis.
She added that the preparation process might have taken several months longer than initially expected, but that it was a large project after all, requiring involvement of all ministers and ministries in the government and many other institutions, and a project which would serve as a model for the next period.
– When I said some time ago that we were initiating a new investment cycle, I didn’t refer to roads and railways only, where the value of everything we will build in the upcoming five, six, seven years is estimated at over EUR 7.8 billion, but to apartments for members of security forces as well – Mihajlovic said.
