Sombor to get new shopping mall by September – Lidl store to open in Capitol Park in 2018

The construction of Capitol Park has started in Sombor. The renowned store chain Lidl will have its sales outlet within this shopping mall.

The construction of Capitol Park started on the location of former Tekstil and the facility of the Bane Sekulic industry. It is important for Sombor for this area to finally be given a new purpose.

According to James Gunn, the director of the Poseidon Group, which is the investor, Capitol Park will have 5,800 square meters of usable space.

– We are bringing international brands to the town. We will have Daichman, DM, Takko, C&A, pharmacies, exchange offices and outlets here, as well as a Lidl market next year – Gunn says.

The first phase of the Capitol park project should be completed by September, which will lead to jobs for a hundred workers.

– This is certainly an important investment for us, as a former business entity is being fully revitalized, gaining a new form, in a modern environment, which will certainly lead to an investment, creating a certain number of jobs as well – says Mayor of Sombor Dusanka Golubovic.
