The database of illegally built structures will be completed in around ten days, the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure reported and said that the categorization of the registered structures was being prepared as well.

As stated in the press release, the database of illegally built structures was established based on the registers made in towns and municipalities of Serbia, with 62.5% of the total number of registered structures being categorized so far.

Of the 1.6 million newly registered structures, a million has been categorized so far.

It has been determined that, of the million registered and categorized structures, as many as 407,000 are residential units (40.7%), 376,000 are side facilities (37.6%), 190,000 are farm structures (19%), 7,500 are office facilities (7.5%), 4,500 are commercial facilities (4.5%), 1,200 are production facilities (1.2%) and around 4,500 are facilities for other purposes (4.5%).

The next phase of legalizing the structures and enforcing the Law on Legalization of Buildings is to start on April 26, when inspection reports on demolition and inspection reports on legalization are to be adopted.

The plan is to first have meeting with representatives of local self-governments in district seats and for the Ministry's teams to then visit all local self-governments in Serbia in order to provide control and advisory aid.
