Will 370m RSD for University Games in Belgrade be returned to Republic budget ?

The draft of Republic budget for year 2007 does not contain 370m RSD intended for organization of University Games in 2009 in Belgrade. Company "Univerzijada 2009" appeals for that investment to be returned to the budget and warns that Belgrade could stay without right to organize this exceptionally prestigious manifestation.

There are also problems with the construction of the University village in Block 67, because there is still Roma settlement of some 30 houses and about 60 families on one third of the lot. However, Branislav Simović, the Manager of company Mace, which supervises construction, says that the solution is very close, and that the first phase of construction has already started on the other part of the lot, so that the deadline for completion, that is, June 2009, can be met.
