Ericsson opens the first global ICT in Sweden

Ericsson is introducing the first global ICT center in Linkoping in Sweden. This is the first one out of three planned whose construction Ericsson announced in September last year.
Two of them will be located in Sweden while one will be in Canada, the company announced.
Ericsson has its test labs and centers which keep data worldwide. The strategy is that majority of them consolidates in new centers with equipment and installations.
New centers will comprise the overall Ericsson portfolio which will be available to engineers for research and development worldwide. Global ICT centers will have the best energy efficiency and will be located in the areas with an access to renewable energy sources and reliable electricity network.
All ICT centers will occupy 120.000 m2 which is the size of 14 football fields.
Ericsson estimates that thanks to real architecture and design as well as location, electricity consumption will decrease up to 40%. This significantly decreases carbon dioxide emission and has a key role for Ericsson when it comes to sustainable future vision, it was stated in the announcement.
