Serbia joins implementation of project for construction of highway 7,250 km long around Black Sea

(Velimir Ilić)
On April 19, 2007, in Belgrade, the authorized ministers of 12 countries members of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) will sign two memoranda of understanding on the construction of navigation roads and on the project for construction of highway around the Black Sea 7,250 km long.
The caravan of 12 trucks will leave our capital after the Ministerial conference in order to check the route where the future highway will be built.
This project will be represented in every country. According to the statement of Velimir Ilić, the Minister of Capital Investments, which he gave after the meeting of the BSEC’s task force for traffic, our corridors 10 and 7 will be connected to this highway around the Black Sea.
- Serbia is currently responsible for the organization. The aim is that the traffic be faster, infrastructure improved, all corridors used and border crossing procedures simplified. The transit traffic, two months after Romania and Bulgarian joined EU, returns to our "Corridor 10" once again, because the road is of better quality – said Ilić.
