The Government of Serbia voted to dismiss seven directors of public companies. Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said that about 70% of management in public enterprises would be changed by the end of August, and that's just the beginning.
At an open meeting of the Government held in Nis, Vucic named the directors who have been dismissed from their positions, the Directors of "Serbian Railways" (Dragoljub Simonovic), Belgrade Airport "Nikola Tesla" (Velimir Radosavljevic), "DIPOS" (Kostadin Popović), the Civil Aviation Directorate of Serbia (Milan Zivanovic), Insurance company "Dunav" (Mark Ćulibrk), Traffic Safety Agency (Stojadin Jovanovic) and Acting Director of the State Lottery of Serbia (Branimir Bozovic).
- Here we begin the whole process of changes in public companies. In the "Electric Power Industry of Serbia" (EPS), we will have to introduce some fundamental changes, and we still have not found a good enough solution, but we will have to do it - Vucic said.
The Prime Minister said that the changes in the management of public companies will continue throughout August.
Vucic said the Government would first appoint acting directors, and then in public open selections, the best and most qualified people would be chosen.
The Government has appointed the heirs of some of dismissed directors. Sasha Vlaisavljević returns as director of the Airport "Nikola Tesla", Mirko Petrovic was appointed to the Executive Board "Dunav Insurance," Djoko Krivokapic was appointed Acting Director of " DIPOS ", and prof. Dr. Krsto Lipovac was appointed as Acting Director of the Agency for Traffic Safety.
