No more obstacles for Wind Farm construction - "Continental Wind" obtains new construction permit for "Cibuk 1" near Kovin
Company "Continental Wind" announced July 18 it had obtained a new construction permit for a construction of the wind farm "Cibuk 1" near Kovin.
New construction permit includes all the elements of the old permit, except 400 kV connected switchgear, which was the reason for its cancellation, on the initiative of public enterprise "Elektromreze Srbije" (JP EMS) June 19 2014.
Issuing of the new constriction permit is an important step towards the commencement of wind farm construction, which could start at the beginning of 2015, say in the company "Continental Wind ".
Wind farm "Cibuk 1" will bring a direct economic benefit of about EUR 260 million during 25 years of the lifetime of this energy facility, where EUR 130 million goes straight into budget of the Republic of Serbia through taxes, about EUR 55 million for domestic construction, electro and transport companies which will hire 400 people during the process of construction and about 20 people after that, and a benefit for the municipality of Kovin of about EUR 10 million and additional EUR 15 million for domestic companies which will maintain the wind farm.
June 19 company received an order from the Ministry of Construction that its construction permit, issued in May 2013, was cancelled, with an explanation that a high-voltage part of the substation could not be included in the permit, because its owner needs to be EMS, it is said in the statement of "Continental Wind ".
EUR 280 million has to be invested in the wind farm "Cibuk 1".
