TODORIC: We will do a miracle

After his company took over Slovenia`s Mercator, Agrokor`s owner Ivica Todoric said he would create the most powerful market chain in the region.

In a statement for Slovenia`s Planet TV, Todoric denied the speculation that Slovenian suppliers would be pushed out from Mercator, the regional business web portal SEEbiz.eu reports.

- We need partners. Our shelves will be opened to them, but they must be competitive - said Todoric.

He is extremely optimistic when it comes to the future of Mercator.

- Some say I will destroy everything, and we will do a miracle instead. Mercator will quickly become the most powerful and the most successful retailer in the region - Todoric noted.

He believes that the takeover of Mercator is the right move and an excellent thing.

Todoric claims that there will be no layoffs at Mercator because Agrokor has recently hired 350 new workers. He doesn`t have the slightest doubt in the success of his conglomerate.

- I risk my money for this. If this fails, I will lost it all - Todoric concludes.
