(Masmi) SCG and Croatia - estimate of relations and attitudes toward mutual investment of capital


KNOWLEDGE OF CROATIAN MARKET IN SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO
Research on knowledge of and attitudes towards Croatian manufacturers and Croatian brands was carried out according to CATI method and, on that occasion, 512 people of both sexes, of all ages and from all regions, were asked for the opinion.
Attitudes toward mutual investment of capital
Most of the polled people (37.7%) has positive attitude toward procurement of domestic factories by Croatian ones. Somewhat smaller percentage of the polled people (31.8%) has negative attitude toward the same matter, whereas 25.8% has neither positive nor negative attitude toward investment of capital by Croatian investors in domestic factories.

The situation is somewhat different concerning procurement of Croatian factories by domestic investors: number of the polled people who had positive attitude toward that matter is bigger and vice versa.
Estimate of relations between SCG and Croatia
The biggest percentage of the polled people (42.6%) are of the opinion that present relations between SCG and Croatia are neither good nor bad. Over one third of the polled people (34.1%) think that the relations between these two countries are either bad or very bad. None of them estimated the relations as excellent.

Average estimates of the relations between Croatia and SCG are different in different age categories, regions and between the users of Croatian products and those who don't use them. The older man is, the estimate of the relations between SCG and Croatia is better. Also, the highest average estimates were given by people from Montenegro, followed by people from Vojvodina, Belgrade and Central Serbia.

Intention of visit to Croatia in the following year
Most of the polled persons (60%) do not plan to visit Croatia next year, whereas 35% do so.

The most often reasons for visit to Croatia are vacations (50.8%) and visit to friends and relatives (46.4%). It is interesting that, although it could be expected, there are no difference in the answers of different age categories. Both younger and older persons intend, or do not intend, to visit Croatia in the following year, although their reasons for visit are slightly different. The reason younger persons (18-34 years old) have to visit Croatia is mainly vacation (58.5%), whereas the older persons (55-74) intends to visit Croatia in order to pay a call on their friends and relatives (56.5%).
The reasons for visit to Croatia are also different in different regions. The polled persons from Central Serbia are clearly distinctive. Almost 60% of polled persons from Central Serbia intends to visit Croatia for vacation, whereas over 50% of people from all other regions would like to visit Croatia in order to be with friends and relatives.
