Serbia to conduct additional alignment of customs regulations with EU


Today, the Serbian Ministry of Finance announced that additional alignment of customs regulations with EU is essential.
As it was said, June 3- 4 Brussels hosted bilateral screening meeting for Chapter 29 referring to Customs union.
The Serbian Delegation presented the chronology of the Serbian legislation alignment process with EU in 17 key areas of customs legislation as well as planned measures so that complete alignment would be provided.
Apart from the EU support for Serbia, it was pointed out that the lack of funds is the main reason why it is not possible to implement customs service in Serbia reform faster.
EU in Serbia funds the New computerized transit system project which should provide faster customs procedures and contribute easier business and company cost reduction.
The Delegation of Serbia in the negotiations on Chapter 29 was headed by the Assistant Finance Minster, Vesna Hreljac Ivanovic.
