Agreement on business - technical cooperation between 'Zastava vehicles' Group, that is 'Zastava trucks' and JAC, Chinese company, should definitely be signed in mid June, in China, according to the latest information from the Kragujevac based company. The signing of the Agreement will follow previously organized visit of 'Zastava trucks' workers and experts to JAC head office, in Anja city, where they will be trained for assembling and manufacturing of Chinese trucks.
To remind ourselves, 'Zastava vehicles' group and JAC company verified Agreement of Understanding in March, at the Ministry of Commerce, which includes signing of Agreement on business-technical cooperation to be undertaken in three stages. The first stage complies assembling of one of JAC's light trucks in 'Zastava', most probably N75, with the lowest level of disassembling. Then, during the second stage, 'Zastava' will get increased participation along with potential domestic suppliers in assembling of Chinese vehicles, whereas the third stage includes formation of a joint company with head office in Kragujevac.
Basic agreement between the two parties was confirmed in late April, when a delegation of Zastava's experts stayed in a weekly visit to JAC company's head office. As agreed with JAC's management, Chinese vehicles manufactured in Zastava will be offered to domestic buyers as well as to the buyers from North Africa, Middle East, CEFTA Agreement and European Union, considering that the vehicles will have engines in accordance with European ecological standards.

Zastava trucks' Management says that negotiations with the Chinese are going according the plan, and that is is realistic to expect the first series of Chinese vehicles in the beginning of the final quarter of this year, most probably, as earlier announced by 'Danas', on October, 2nd, the Factory's anniversary day.
The Management intends to continue with manufacturing of their own light trucks and military vehicles, whose prototypes had already been made a few years ago. They also expressed their wish to get bigger support from the Government of Serbia in their negotiations with JAC, a state owned company and the biggest manufacturer of trucks and SUVs in China.
