USAID organization starts two new projects in Serbia – Economic Security Strentghening Program and Export Promotion Program


The Ambassador of USA to Serbia, Michael Polt, will represent two new USAID's projects - Program for Planning and Reacting in Critical Situations and Strengthening of Economic Security and Program for Promotion of Investments in Municipalities - today (February 13, 2007) in Kraljevo.
These two significant projects support USAID's help to Serbia to become democratic and thriving country on the path toward Euro-Atlantic integrations. THe main activity of the PRogram for Planning and Reacting in Critical Situations and Strengthening of Economic Security is contest of business plans "Make Your Dream True".
The existing companies and new firms which present economically healthy business plans and satisfy all criteria and aims of the program, will be qualified for the participation in the contest, whereas the winners will get, as an award, the combination of investments, training, technical aid and advising support in the realization of their plans.
The Program for Promotion of Investments in Municipalities will be conducted as a part of the Program for Stimulation of Economic Development of Municipalities (MEGA). That Program will be conducted in municipalities of Pećinci, Šabac, Čačak, Kraljevo, Arilje, Prijepolje, Pančevo, Vršac, Smederevo, Paraćin and Leskovac, in order to help them attract investments.
The mayors of 11 municipalities chosen to participate in the Program for Promotion of Investments in Municipalities will sign the agreements on collaboration with Ambassador Polt.
