Environment protection and additional profit - "PET containers" placed in another school in Belgrade

The pupils of Primary School "Mihajlo Petrović Alas" can throw plastic packaging into the special container placed in the school yard. The money for its procurement has been provided by the Borough of Stari Grad, thanks to the initiative of the Municipal ECology Council.

The general idea is that the pupils bring and thrown PET packaging into the container, whereas the schools will sign contracts with the companies that deal with recycling and, in that way, provide additional incomes for schools. Thus, the ecological picture of the city center will be improved and, at the same time, the ecological conscience of the pupils will be formed. The plan is that the containers for tin cans and glass packaging be bought this year.

School "Mika Alas" was visited by the representatives of company "Brzan plast", which is supposed to buy the collected packaging. This company collects about 300 tons of plastic per month. Last year, 3,000 tons of waste were recycled. The price of 1 kg of collected PET packaging is 7 RSD.
