From the Balkans to Scandinavia - Elnos BL contracts works for the construction of hydro power plants, thermal power plants and wind parks

(Elnos BL in Batajnica)
The first works on the rehabilitation of the hydro power plant Zvornik should start early next year. In mid 2013, German company, Voith hydro, signed the contract for rehabilitation of the hydro power plant Zvornik and Elnos BL is a strategic partner in the project.
As the Elnos BL company Executive Manager, Borko Torbica, said for eKapija, a four-year contract for revitalization of the entire hydro power plant is a big business challenge for the company.
- At the moment, we are in the stage of designing and construction of the turbine model which is done in USA. By the end of the year, model – test is expected which would complete and revise the project. We expect the first works in February 2015 – Torbica says and ads that the project totals EUR 65 mil.
Although it is one of the biggest current projects of Elnos BL in Serbia, the company is expanding its business in the field of alternative energy sources. It is about the construction of wind park Dolovo at Pancevo with the total value of EUR 240 mil.
- We agreed to that project at the price of EUR 18,5 mil. However, we are waiting for the legislation, first of all changes in the Law on energy - our collocutor points out who thinks that the end of the year should see the implementation of the biggest investment in the region in the field of wind energy.
Elnos BL Beograd was set up in 2001 as a part of Elnos Group, international electric energy company headquartered in Banja Luka. Only in the past year in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the company hired 86 employees so Elnos Group employs 360 people. In 2007, Elnos Grupa opened its branch office in Podgorica and two years later in Skoplje.
Big projects in Bosnian and Herzegovina
One of the biggest projects Elnos BL is implementing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the thermal power plant Stanari, which the first private investment in the construction of thermal power plants after 30 years. The works are in progress and EFT is Elnos’s partner.
- Elnos ended 65% of the project and it is expected everything to be finished by the end of the year. We are working on connecting the thermal power plant to electro-energy network of Bosnia and Herzegovina including the transfer station and the connection with generator voltage – Torbica explains.
- Apart from the TE Stanari project, implementation of a few big projects is ongoing. I would like to point out reconstruction and modernization of the P-20 facility at the Oil refinery Brod. One of the important projects where we expect negotiations in the upcoming weeks is the construction of the Bocac 2 hydro power plant at the Vrbas river, close to Banja Luka – our collocutor said.
Conquest of Germany and Austria
During the previous two years, Elnos intensified its business activities in Scandinavia so in 2012, Elnos Nordic in Swedish town Vasteras was set up. The works on two distant pipelines in central and south part of the Scandinavian country are the first projects in Sweden.
Today Elnos has big plans for conquering the markest of Austria and Germanu during 2014 and 2015. As our collocutor says, planned activities for that period will focus on development of cooperation with partners in these countries.
When it comes to Austria, partners Elnos are big companies in the field of hydro energy, Voith hydro and Andritz with which it will do projects which will continue expansion to EU markets.
Biosco CS- a candidate for Aurea 2014 Award
In November 2013, Elnos BL opened a plant for production of compact assembling – concrete power transformer stations, Biosco CS, the only one of that kind in the region.
Biosco CS power transformer stations, with the power of up to 1000 kVA, are new products which developed secondary electricity distribution and are a part of smart network operating in line with the Schneider Electric license.
With this project, Elnos BL, is one of the finalists for the investment of the year award, Aurea 2014, which our portal gives.
