During the Tourism Fair, renowned Belgrade’s restaurant Stara Sent Andreja and the National tourist organization of Montenegro are organizing a gastronomic event called the Secrets of the south Adriatic. From February 21 until March 23, the restaurant will represent a special menu comprised of selected specialties made of wild sea fish and sea food, which will come directly from the Adriatic fish nets on daily basis.

It will be a unique opportunity for many people to try some kinds of fish which are not consumed in Serbia so often.

From the sea to Zemun

Thus, at the Zemun side of the Danube coast, the menu of the Stara Sent Andreja restaurant will contain fresh catch of Monetenerin fishermen which top cooks specialized in preparation of sea fish and sea food will prepare in traditional manner.

As we were told at the restaurant, depending on the fisherman’s luck, during the unique gastronomic festival, along with the sounds of Mediterranean music, guests of Stara Sent Andreja which is located at the Zemun quay will have the rare, daily opportunity to taste the most valuable kinds of the Adriatic fish.

Fishermen from the south will catch all the fish the same morning, only a few hours before it is served to the guests of Stara Sent Andreja. Apart from the wild sea fish, the offer will include shrimps, prawns, octopus, as well as a couple of kinds of sea shells.

Apart from that, the restaurant can point out the fact that they prepare fish in three ways: fried, in salt and baked. Those who already had an opportunity to visit this Zemun-based restaurant with a long tradition, in most of the cases ordered gilthead, bass and a less famous fish San Pierre.

Promotional wine offer from the most famous wineries from Serbia and Montenegro will contribute to gastronomic experience. One winery will be presented every week and at the same time guests will be able to enjoy constant wine card which comprises Italian (Tuscany mainly), French wines as well as New world wines.

The Stara Sent Andreja restaurant will meet the needs of those who like sweets as well and will offer sea omelet as well as all other domestic cakes such as cheese cake and Oplenac pie.

You might not feel the scent of salt and pine in the air at the Zemun quay but you will definitely feel the Mediterranean spirit. The sounds of an acoustic guitar will support your gastronomic experience.
