Another tunnel drilled on Corridor X

The left tube of the Przojno-Padina tunnel on the bypass around Dimitrovgrad, at the eastern end of Corridor X, was drilled Friday (7 February 2014), whereas the entire tunnel should be completed in mid-2014.

This is the second tunnel drilled along the route of Corridor X, Koridori Srbije Director Dmitar Djurovic told Tanjug news agency, reminding that the left tube of the Progon tunnel had been drilled in December 2013.

- Just like we promised, works on 11 out of 12 tunnels on corridors X and XI have been underway the whole winter season - Djurovic pointed out.

The contractor for the construction of tunnels Progon and Przojno-Padina is the Greek company Terna which has a large experience in the construction of tunnels and carries out works in Serbia very successfully, he stressed.

Djurovic reminded that the plan was to finish the entire route of Corridor X towards Bulgarian and Macedonian borders in 2016.
