Promulgation of the new Labor Law, which was announced for early next year, will most likely be postponed until spring, the daily Blic cited unofficial sources as saying.

If this scenario happens, it will be one of the main confirmations that early elections will take place in March.

Economy Minister Sasa Radulovic first said that the new Labor Law would be adopted in December 2013, but he later announced that would happen in January 2014.

However, Blic's source claims that new rules for a total of 2.2 million employees in Serbia will most probably be discussed by MPs after March. People at the Economy Ministry say that the Labor Law is of crucial importance for economic development.

- We expect a debate on that law in the Parliament in January, and we won't comment on any speculations about postponement - said people at that ministry.

At the same time, the Labor Ministry stressed that ongoing public debate on that law would run by January 10th.
