MISCEVIC: Negotiations with Brussels in late 2013

Belgrade is doing its best to get the green light for formal start of political talks with Brussels as early as by the year's end. A big number of countries are ready to help hold the first intergovernment conference on December 20th.
This has been confirmed to the daily Novosti by Tanja Miscevic, the head of our team for negotiations with the EU, after visiting Berlin and London. Miscevic and Branko Ruzic, the minister without portfolio in charge of EU relations, will continue Serbia's diplomatic offensive as early as today with talks in France followed by meetings in Italy.
When asked whether Serbia was going to receive support from two key countries - Germany and Great Britain, and get the green light to start the negotiation process as early as December, she replied:
- None of the countries is explicitly against that. We are familiar with the requirements defined by the Council of Europe back in June, and the talks we are having now are an opportunity for us to get European partners to understand the position of Serbia and to secure as good negotiation framework as possible. All our ideas are received very well.
Miscevic reminds that Serbia requires not only support from one or two countries, but the green light, partnership and good relations with all 28 members of the EU.
