Production at Djerdap Hydroelectric Power Station hits record high – Plan for 2013 outperformed

Since the beginning of January until the end of September 2013, Djerdap 1 Hydroelectric Power Station that generates a fifth of all electricity in Serbia produced nearly 6.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electric energy, thus outperforming its production plan for 2013.
This year’s production is record high at Djerdap 1 which generated 20 percent more electricity than planned in September alone and delivered 305 million kWh of electricity to the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) – 55 million more than planned.
Aside from favorable hydrological situation, revitalization of hydroelectric generators that began in September 2006 also contributes to good results.
- Our production plan for 2013 was at 5.35 billion kWh of electricity. We have already outperformed this plan – Djerdap CEO Ljubisa Jokic told Tanjug news agency.
With the revitalization of all six hydroelectric generators, which should be completed in six years, Djerdap Hydroelectric Power Station will boost production by 10 percent.
This entire project is valued at EUR 168 million.
