KRSTIC: Decrease in public debt as of 2017

Finance Minister Lazar Krstic voiced his belief today that the measures proposed by the government would stabilize the country's public debt in 2016 and that it would start dropping in 2017.

Krstic pointed out at the presentation of White Book 2013 that the stabilization and reduction of public debt were critically important for Serbia's credibility, country's liquidity in the international market, social economic stability and economic growth.

Krstic stressed that the measures were designed to leave room for the implementation of structural reforms that should have been implemented in the government sector a long time ago.
