Germany's Carl Warrlich and Belgrade-based Energotrade opened a new EUR 1.5 million production and distribution center for kerosene igniters in Bela Crkva on October 18th.

These companies previously formed a joint venture called Flammat.

Carl Warrlich is a family firm established in 1904 in the German town of Trefurt. Its trademark Flammat is a leading European brand in the category of firelighters.

Energotrade from Belgrade is the importer and distributor of household bulbs, plastic goods and firelighters for households. The company became an exclusive importer of Flammat products in 2003.

Assistance in the establishment of aforementioned joint venture was provided by the Vojvodina Investment Promotion (VIP) Fund, whereas the Provincial Secretariat for Science and Technological Development co-financed the project with RSD 20 million.

This investment in the first phase has secured jobs for 20 workers, while another 70 people are hired indirectly. Depending on the success of the first phase, the company plans to expand the factory, invests in new technologies and increase the number of employees.
