RUZIC: Tariff rates agreed for import of cigarettes from Croatia

Branko Ruzic, the minister in charge of EU integrations, said Thursday that the Serbian government had agreed upon tariff rates for the import of cigarettes from Croatia as well as the entire EU.
At a press conference in the Serbian government, Ruzic said that the government's Coordination Body for the EU Accession had decided to implement "the adaptation of all 88 tariff lines".
- We are talking about 1,625 tonnes of cigarettes from Croatia as well as all other EU countries. Outside that quota, every cigarette consumption will be taxed at 58% - said Ruzic.
Ruzic added that Serbia's exports to the EU were not subject to any tariff rate and, therefore, invited Serbian businessmen to take advantage of this.
He stressed that the issue of the import of Croatian cigarettes was not a bilateral problem with Croatia, but something that can be resolved between Serbia and the European Commission.
