Zannini East invests EUR 1 million in expansion of Vrsac-based factory for producing cardboard packaging for pharmaceutical industry

Italian manufacturer of print cardboard packaging for the pharmaceutical industry, which operates in Vrsac, plans to boost its capacity by expanding the factory in this town.

- There are currently three production lines in operation, but the existing space has become too small for us. We now produce 320m packs for medicines per year, while the factory expansion should increase the capacity by 30 percent - Aleksandra Cvetkovic, logistics director at this company, says to eKapija.

- We expect the work to commence in a month and the new space to be ready by mid-2014. A total of EUR 1 million will be invested in the expansion of the factory, excluding the costs of new machines.

Most of Zannini East's production is intended for local pharmaceutical companies. According to Cvetkovic, they produce packs for drugs for Hermofarm, Galenika, Zdravlje Actavis, Ivancic i sinovi...

Exports account for 38 percent of production with main export destinations being Italy, Switzerland, Romania, and Greece.

Zannini East's production facilities are situated in the vestibule of the Technology Park in Vrsac and represent the first foreign investment in this town.
