The Belgrade Stock Exchange has potentials for development, integration with the stock markets in the region and it can be highly attractive to the foreign investors, under the condition that it adopts standards on time and to follow global trends of integration of stock markets in the world. This was pointed out yesterday (November 14, 2006) at the Fifth International Conference of the Belgrade Stock Exchange, which is held in hotel"Intercontinental".
On that occasion, the representative of the Association of Nordic and Baltic Stock Exchanges (OMX), Henri Bergstom, pointed to the benefits the integration brings to clients, such as unique rule for trading and coordination of the rules of supervision of trade.
Higher vice president of NASD (US supervisory agency that controls the work of brokers), Nikolas Banister, said that the brands of integration of big stock exchanges were present everywhere in the world, the example of which was merging of the New York Stock Exchange and "Euronext", and there was also fight for global capital.
According to his words, all these new examples of development of stock market operations are imposing use of better regulation of laws and regulations, especially those in relation to the role of regulatory bodies, such as securities commission in the national legislation.
