"Parking servis" has elaborated, in cooperation with the Faculty of Technical Sciences, the study on parking lots and construction of the underground garage. According to that study, it has been concluded that the best locations are in the city downtown, underneath the Modena Street, Freedom Square, Theater Square and Kralja Aleksandra Street.

The garage would be built in two phases. The first phase would be construction of the garage underneath the Modena Street, for about 250 parking places. In the second phase, the garage with somewhat more than 250 places would be built underneath the Freedom Square, the Theater Square and Kralja Aleksandra Street.

Manager Goran Tomić pointed out that the floor organization of that street should definitely be used, because, in that way, the expenses of the construction of the garage would be reduced for the part of expenses of the floor organization of the Modena Street. The garage would have two floors, but there is still possibility that the special works on it would make the three-storey facility. The entrance to the garage would be settled in from of the Modena Street, while the owners of the vehicles would leave it through the roofed passages along the street.

Construction of the garage in the city downtown, according to the estimates of "Parking servis", would cost about 4m EUR. The works would last for about six months, to which the time for relocation of installations should be added.

Explaining how the construction would be financed, Tomić mentioned the public-private model, according to which the city would provide land and, possibly, invest part of the money, while the private capital would settle rest of the expenses - works and material. Tomić added that the money from the payment of the parking in the garage would partly go to the city and partly to the private owner who invested the money.
