Briquettes from Zabalj for Italian heating plants - TMD Power plans to expand production capacity to 88,000 tonnes per year

TMD Power began producing briquettes in October 2012, and its products have already found their way to customers in Italy.

Dusko Trninic, director of TMD, says to eKapija that the entire production process at his company is automated, adding that the cutting-edge equipment has been procured from Danish manufacturers.

- The current production volume is at between 24,000 and 27,000 tonnes, which makes us the largest manufacturer in Serbia. For the time being, 100 percent of production is exported. Our main buyers are Italian heating and power plants.

A total of EUR 2 million have so far been invested in the factory that directly employs 14 and indirectly over 60 workers.

According to our interlocutor, raw materials are exclusively locally produced.

The director of TMD says they plan to offer products to buyers in Serbia as well, adding that the plan is to boost production to about 88,000 tonnes per year.

- We plan on educating consumers, and we will also provide some benefits for the buyers of our products in Serbia - says our interlocutor.
