More "frivolous" investors - SEWEA warns that five wind farms lack valid building permits

- Minimum 36 MW of the total quote of 500 MW approved for wind farms are taken by the projects lacking valid building permits. These are five wind farms in Zajecar and Tutin - Ana Brnabic, a representative of the Serbian Wind Energy Association (SEWEA), said at today's conference on renewables organized by Danas Conference.
Brnabic noted that building permits for wind farms were issued by the Ministry of Construction, while the competent permitting body for the territory of Vojvodina was the Provincial Secretariat for Town Planning.
- For wind farms Vrska Cuka 1, 2, 3 and 4 in Zajecar, permits are issued by local self-governments, although it is contrary to the Law on Planning and Construction. Based on this invalid document, they gained a temporary status of a privileged electricity producer. Our association has pointed to this problem, and the Ministry of Construction has made a decision to revoke these building permits issued in March 2013. This decision has been forwarded to the Energy Ministry. However, they still have a temporary status of a privileged electricity producer – Brnabic explained in a talk with eKapija.
The SEWEA representative pointed out that the wind farm Dervec 1 in Tutin had also received the permit from the local self-government.
Brnabic believes that these wind farm projects will never be implemented, so she wonders if SEWEA is to search for frivolous investors instead of doing its job.
