Zoran Jeremic named new Serbian ambassador to Berlin

Serbia's new ambassador to Germany should be Zoran Jeremic, a long-time diplomat and the last Yugoslav ambassador to Berlin during the rule of Slobodan Milosevic.

As German diplomatic sources told Beta news agency, Serbian authorities have submitted a request to the authorities in Berlin for getting a permit to appoint Zoran Jeremic as the new ambassador of Serbia in that country.

Zoran Jeremic (66) became a diplomat in 1975. He has a total of 14 years of service in Germany. He served as charge d'affaires in the period 1992-1996 and as ambassador to Berlin between 1996 and 1999. He was also consul general in Salzburg, Austria from 2004 to 2008.
