NIS too wants to search for oil in the Adriatic Sea

According to the Split daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija, the Invitation to Bid for oil and gas exploration in the Adriatic Sea has attracted the interest of 24 companies.
This newspaper cites Drazenka Becirovic, an adviser at the Montenegrin Ministry of Economy, as saying that there are few large global "players" among the interested companies, including Serbia's NIS Gazpromneft, Greece's Hellenic, and Croatia's INA.
Becirovic said that the outcome of the bidding process would be known in February 2014, adding that the list of 24 companies also included Norway's Statiol Asa, Exxon Mobile from the USA, Japan's Nippon Exploration, and Italy's ENI and Edison.
