North Karton starts building cardboard factory in Jagodina - EUR 15 million facility to be completed by 1 August 2014

The North Karton company began the construction of a factory for producing wave cardboard and cardboard packaging in Jagodina on Saturday (1 June 2013). The foundation stone for this factory, which is going to employ 200 workers, was laid by Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, Jagodina Mayor Dragan Markovic Palma and North Karton CEO Vladimir Slovohotov, it was announced on the website of the City of Jagodina.
According to North Karton's owner Vladimir Slovohotov, this factory fit out with cutting-edge equipment will be opened 1 August 2014.
- The factory will supply entire Serbia with cardboard because about 50 percent of the required cardboard packaging is now imported, but it will also make products for other countries in the region. North Karton uses a recycled waste paper as a raw material, thus taking care of the environment as well. We are going to hire 200 people, but there will be much more people involved in distribution and logistics - said Slovohotov.
This production facility will span 15,000 square meters with its construction costs expected to reach EUR 15 million, reads the release on the website of the City of Jagodina.
