Surcin-based Koteks starts beef exports to Italy

Yesterday, the first contingent of Serbian Surcin-based Koteks beef meat industry was sent to Italy since the company was enabled to export meat to the EU market. The license for the "baby beef" export Koteks received after aligning its certificates with European rules.

The company reminds of a significant export to Russia where at the end of last year they sent thousands of tons of meat.

- We are expecting compliance with other markets that require Kosher and Halal certification, which will further open up the space for domestic beef export - Zorica Novakovic, Director of the Veterinary Department says.
