The owner of Alatnica Krstic, which bought the former Pirot-based Industry of tool machines, Sarlah, Zoran Krstic, announced that the plant should be put into operation again within two years.

Zoran Krstic invested about EUR 800,000 into Sarlah.

- Sarlah is in a disastrous condition. All machines are old. Hall refurbishment, new electric lines, sewerage and water systems rehabilitation will follow. After that, we will buy equipment and start modern production. We will hire new staff as soon as facility rehabilitation finishes. Currently, we are cooperating with local companies, such as Tigar Tyres, Ruma guma, Cooper Trayal. We also cooperate with German GMT, as well as with a Dutch company for which we produce various rubber products - said Zoran Krstic.

Mayor of Pirot, Vladan Vasic, promised that Pirot municipality will stimulate plants like Alatnice Krstic in any way available.

- More than 70% of production from their plant is exported and now they purchased Sarlah. Local self - government will be working closely with them in order to help them get all the necessary permits - Vasic said.

Alatnica Krstic produces specialized tools for rubber industry in Serbia but also in Germany and the Netherlands. The company currently employs twenty workers at the facility on the road to the village Barje Ciflik.
