Assembling of tractors of Belarus-based MTZ to start in few months in Novi Sad

At the end of year 2006 and at the beginning of the next year, Novi Sad will become the center of the tractor industry in the Balkans. This was announced after the signing of the Protocol on Business Cooperation between Belarus-based "Minsk Tractor Institute" (MTZ) and domestic company "Agropanonka MTZ Finke" in Novi Sad.
The Protocol stipulates that (most likely, in the halls of Novi Sad-based company "Pobeda") the assembling of most of the parts for tractors "Belarus" intended for our market and for the buyers in the other countries of the Balkans starts in Novi Sad.
That will be the result of founding of joint venture "Belarus" in Novi Sad, which will work on the assembling of the biggest part of elements for tractors. Minsk will be sending engine blocks and complete transmission mechanism, along with some other parts, whereas the rest of the parts will be produced in our country by at least 100 workers.
The Head of the Executive Council of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, pointed out that he expected that the other domestic companies that can contribute to better quality and lower prices of machines would join the production process in the joint factory.
– The fact that the tractors from the factory in Novi Sad will be 15% cheaper than the present trucks will represent the big stimulation for farmers to decide for procurement of new machines and more rational and cheaper food production – said Pajtić.
