NBS expects to start negotiations with IMF in May - Precautionary arrangement as additional guarantee for foreign investors

National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic says Serbia will negotiate a precautionary arrangement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in May, B92 has reported.
- The talks are headed in a good direction. We are not someone coming here begging for help, we are aware we belong here and want to keep our place by having advisors inside the IMF - Tabakovic, who is visiting Washington, told the national broadcasting corporation Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) late on Saturday.
She said she was there justifying NBS' decisions and the reforms it was determined to carry out and, above all, to show that Serbia had a credible fiscal policy.
Tabakovic added the NBS delegation was engaging in very open talks with IMF representatives and was also going to meet with the representatives of the World Bank, from whom they expected to receive technical assistance and counsel regarding reform processes.
