The biggest Romanian copper manufacturer "Cuprom" is interested in procurement of Mining-Smeltery Basin "Bor" in cooperation with several leading world banks.

On several occasions in the talks in the Government of Serbia and on the occasion of visit to Mining Smeltery Basin "Bor", the representatives of "Cuprom" showed interest in takeover of complete basin, including all organizational parts, smeltery and electrolysis, as well as existing mines in Bor and Majdanpek.

(Target - complete Basin)

The main aim of "Cuprom", one of the biggest European manufacturers of copper wire, is get "Bor" ready for long-term operations as a significant world copper manufacturer, as well as to create integrated regional system of copper production.

"Cuprom" is of the opinion that the future of production of non-ferrous metals on this territory should be perceived on the basis of regional integrations, that is, that Serbian, Romanian and Bulgarian capacities should be merged into the unique system with the headquarters in Bor, which would make it possible for the Balkans and Serbia to get important role once again on the world market of non-ferrous metals.
