GSP Beograd still awaits 180 buses - Managing Board decides to take out loan from EBRD

At its session held on 23 January 2013, the Managing Board of the City Transportation Company (GSP) Beograd adopted a decision of the City Assembly to take out a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the amount of up to EUR 75 million to purchase 180 air-conditioned and low-floor buses through an international tender.
Within the next ten days, with the consent of the EBRD, the tender commission is to notify the contract winner, which is obligated to provide bank guarantees and pay 10 percent of the project value to the account of the City of Belgrade within 15 days.
Blic reported today that 180 new vehicles should be supplied by Germany's MAN, while Politika writes that Solaris from Poland is the closest to winning the contract.
Politika also reports that the arrangement will be offered to MAN if Solaris fails to meet all requirements within 15 days of the moment it receives a written notice, adding that the job will be offered to Volvo if MAN fails to meet the requirements.
