Swarovski to start building factory in Subotica in June 2013

Finance and Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic has announced in a statement to Tanjug news agency that Austria's Swarovski will start building a factory in Subotica in June.
After a talk with Swarovski Executive Vice President Karl Wagner and Global Strategic Development Director Wolfgang Wifler in Vienna, he explained that his interlocutors had hinted that the construction of a factory would be commenced in June and that the construction work and equipping would be completed by Q2 2014.
- Over the next year a new factory will be built and employ 550 workers. It will span an area of 15,000 square meters - Dinkic told Tanjug's correspondent in Vienna.
The Serbian minister also said that it was a good thing that one such renowned company was coming to invest in Subotica.
- My interlocutors told me that this would only be the first phase. If the project ends in success and Swarovski products are sold well in Serbia, they are ready to begin the next phase in 2015 - he stressed.
