Ditre Italia not to give up furniture factory construction in Vranje

The Italian manufacturer of upholstered leather furniture, Ditre Italia, is not giving up the idea of building a factory in a new location in Vranje after the Privatization Agency terminated a previous agreement on the sale of three plants of Vranje-based Yumco to that Italian company.
An agreement with the Italian company was signed in December 2011. According to that agreement, Ditre Italia was supposed to start making furniture in the previously purchased Yumco plants - Konac, Dorada and Trikotaza.
The local self-government confirmed to Tanjug news agency that despite the termination of that agreement, the company from Italy is not going to give up on its project to build a modern factory for producing upholstered furniture in Vranje.
In order to overcome all misunderstandings, Ditre Italia has agreed to immediately begin the construction of a furniture factory on a new site in Bunusevac Industrial Zone, but the start of operations and the employment of 411 workers will come more than two years later than initially agreed.
Under this agreement, the Serbian government has taken on an obligation to provide incentives in the amount of EUR 5,000 for each newly created job.
