Metech to start construction of new production facility and solar plant in Smederevo by end-2012

Smederevo-based Metech, owned by Belgium's Metes N.V, plans to build a new space to house a logistics center and the production of products from all types of sheet metal in that town. Namely, the company will construct a new production facility spanning about 2,000 square meters and a 205 kW photovoltaic solar power plant to generate green electricity. The construction work should kick off in the last quarter of 2012.

As it was announced on the official website of the city of Smederevo, this investment, worth about EUR 1 million, will be implemented gradually, by end-June 2013.

The company already has 140 employees, while new investments will enable it to hire 40 new workers. The plan is also to boost the production by about 20 percent.
