SBB - new landline operator?

In the upcoming days, Serbia will most probably get a new, fourth landline operator. It will be the cable operator SBB, which, according to RATEL (Republic Agency for Electronic Communications), should get its license within the next week, as well as its numeration.
SBB has also confirmed to Blic daily that it filed an application for a license, along with the necessary documentation, at the beginning of the year. In addition to Telekom Srbija, landline services are currently offered by Orion, which got its landline license in mid-2009, after paying EUR 540,000, and Telenor, which paid EUR 1,050,000 for its license in early 2010.
Under the Law on Electronic Communications of January 1, 2012, the landline market is fully liberalized, and any company that meets the technical requirement can get a license. As Blic learns, SBB is so far the only company to have submitted an application to RATEL.
