Indjija, Sremska Mitrovica, Vranje, Zajecar, Subotica among top investment destinations in Europe

In February, the famous Financial Times has published the list of best European municipalities and cities for investments in 2012/13: out of 253 European cities and 110 regions, in the category of cost effectiveness and FDI strategy for regions and cities under 250,000 citizens, 5 local governments from Serbia were placed among the top 10 investment destinations, and all 5 are certified as business-friendly: Indjija, Sremska Mitrovica, Vranje, Zajecar and Subotica, NALED said in a statement.
This is the first world-class ranking where Serbia leaves behind all the countries in the region in terms of competitiveness, including Slovenia. Namely, Serbia appears 7 times in this report, Slovenia 5 and Croatia 2 times, while all other countries from the region didn't make it to the list. The recognition from Financial Times, as the most influential business newspaper in the world, confirms that the efforts our municipalities have put in improving the business climate and providing the best conditions for investors are noticed on a global scale, making these 5 municipalities shining bright across the European investment skies, reads the statement.
For NALED, this acknowledgement only confirms the quality and relevance of the Business-friendly Certification Program, which is going beyond borders - to Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia, as a rare example of regional cooperation.
